VINTAGE FIESTA

Fiesta is a pattern of ceramic tableware made my the Homer Laughlin China Company of Newell, West Virginia, since the 1930s. It was designed by Frederick Hurten Rhead to serve as everyday tableware for middle-class families.

The original production run from 1936-1969 is the “vintage” Fiestaware sought by many collectors, in the 11 colors of this era. There are the “original six colors.” Four were later added to make the “fifties colors,” then one more as part of the “sixties colors.” Across the 33 years, some colors dropped out of the line and others came back—only yellow was in continuous production.

The available styles in this era changed as well, not always at the same time as the colors.

Thus vintage Fiestaware, as a complete collection, is a composite of all 11 colors and all styles produced; yellow being the only color in which every style was made.
